paint bug

Paint bug!

Believe it or not, I think I found a bug in Paint! When I copy and paste an object into paint and when I use the transparent background for the object I pasted, only part of the object shows up, but when I turn the solid background on, the whole object appears. Anyone else have this issue? I'm going to report it.

Paint has never handled transparency. Personally, I use Paint.NET when I need transparent areas.

Can I actually just ask why Microsoft hasn't updated paint? You would think with the competition cough*apple*cough*linux* they should at least update paint to handle transparancy, layers, effects ect like Gimp or paint.NET
Just a point. and a good one me thinks!!! ;p

I'm no expert on the history of Paint, but my educated guess is that no-one has been able or willing to stand up, say "this is important", and make it stick.

P.S. Note that paint has been updated over the years, just not very aggressively.

It is a good point. Why don't you forward this through the Feedback link. I imagine that the "sentiments" link would suffice. I don't think you need to go through all the hoops in the MBC.

And look at how much RAM Paint.NET eats over Paint. I can accomplish most tasks with Paint much quicker and easier with less steps. Granted, Paint.NET has a lot more features but I'd like Paint to stay. Maybe add what Paint.NET has additionally but leave everything set up the way it is. I also normally work with 4 to 5 paint documents at once, so I don't see how Paint.NET is going to work for me. I can see how others might like Paint.NET though, and I may even use Paint.NET on occasion, but not on a routinely basis. "Colin Barnhorst" wrote in message
